About Janie Molster

Janie Molster established her interior design firm in 1990. The firm tackles a wide variety of residential and commercial projects including private residences, vacation properties, and renovations. Janie’s work is characterized by inviting and comfortable rooms with a mix of interesting textures, antiques, and contemporary furnishings and accessories.

As the mother of five, Janie is a master at creating sophisticated interiors that stand up to day-to-day living and entertaining. Keeping rooms functional & practical while conveying a sense of luxury and elegance is a consistent design theme in her work.
“Listening to the client is the most important aspect of my design work and listening to the space being designed is a close second.” Janie’s projects represent as many distinctive styles as her client list but they share some common ground. “There has to be a feeling of warmth conveyed. A home should beckon one inside and be inviting and personal. Once there, a home should reflect something of its owner’s personality.”

Her distinguishing style has produced cutting edge designs that have been featured in some of the industry’s top magazines including Traditional Home, Southern Accents, Southern Living and Renovation Style. Janie lives in Richmond, Virginia with her family (husband John, 4 sons and a daughter).
